This has sat on my shelf for years. Honestly the subject matter is very far from anything I'd normally choose to read. I have zero interest in serial killers (though really "enjoyed" David Fincher's show Mindhunter and I guess now I'll check out Zodiac (2007) ) zero interest in the true crime genre etc. I do Like Jarett Kobek though and I'll give anything he's written a try.

Anyway this was decent, more interesting for me in terms of the cultural context of the 1960s/70s California than the actual killings etc. I've got the second volume on my shelf and might dive straight intom it in order to maintain momentum. The best bits reminded me of his boss fight book on Soft and Cuddly. Really wish that 33 1/3 on ODB was forthcoming but I'm gussing that's off the cards at this point given it's been ~10 years since it was originally anounced.
