Kincaid is never less than crystal clear and has a great economical way of writign, no lengthy intros or outros, cut to the chase. I love it. That said, I enjoyed this most when it was writing more directly about science fiction writers rather than about science fiction writing (I mean what did i expect?). Stand out sections on M John Harrison and HG Wells; I came away wanting to read more.
